We are looking for a mature and caring person or couple who are familiar with spaniels. Our dogs are Gillie (mum, aged 14) and Aggie (aka Pup, aged 8) and they love company and Aggie loves being walked (at least!) twice a day! Dear Gillie has become deaf, almost blind and lame but her sense of smell keeps her active and she still imagines herself as a champion ball chaser.
Looking after the house and walking/loving the dogs! My neighbours normally have the dogs for a short break but they are away themselves. There may be a few plants to water but otherwise no gardening is needed for the short break.
Our cottage is newly renovated and has a wood burning stove in the lounge. It is in a small village on the outskirts of Salisbury, many tourist attractions nearby. We have an excellent village pub just a few yards away from the house and a regular bus service into Salisbury nearby.
You will need to have your own transport which you are happy to use for our dogs to take them for walks. Familiarity with cocker spaniels would be useful as Aggie is lively and fairly headstrong when there is a scent of pheasants or deer around!

A warm welcome in beautiful south Witshire
Gillie & Aggie, mother & daughter, are ADORABLE and extremely well behaved Spaniels! Stephanie & Sherwood were more than welcoming! They made a delicious dinner on our arrival and it felt like old friends! They have a cosy, beautiful house with a lot of traditional features, and views all around of the wonderful countryside. They were also VERY attentive; Keeping in contact during our stay, and contacting us in advance with general information & directions... Offering to buy us in provisions and asking if there are any allergies or other problems that they should know of... They left concise and detailed household & pets instructions, Details from important local contacts for all situations. And useful local information, as well as a map showing dog walking routes around Nunton village with its local pub 100 yards down the road, the ‘Radnor Arms’. Breathtakingly stunning countryside on the outskirts of the beautiful medieval city of Salisbury. Thank you for your boundless hospitality, and maybe we’ll meet again some day...
