Hi all you lovely house sitters! We are seeking a reliable cat loving house sitter to look after our three cats in the lovely Derbyshire country side!! We are seeking a Cat / house sitter for about 4 weeks from around the end of March 2025 until the end of April 2025 (our dates are flexible ) while we visit Portugal. You must be very animal friendly and be prepared to keep the house clean and tidy and most importantly to look after our two elderly cats, Sooty, and Gracie.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

You must be reliable, tidy and non smokers, and be willing to look after our cats. The well being of our cats if of prime importance they are older cats 17 and 18 and are fairly self sufficient only needing feeding twice a day. But they need to be looked after and a lot of loving and affection when they want it. Sooty has a medication once per day in her food but this is very easy to do!!But attention to detail with her food and water is important. Other than that just keep the house tidy and keep the house safe and cosy.

What are the good features of the property and location

Lovely quiet cul de sac location on the edge of the Peak District, which is less than 7-8 miles away. There is a small town just 5 mins away with Tesco supermarket garage etc  and the citys of Derby and Sheffield are only 30-40 mins drive away. We have a small but comfortable centrally heated 2 bed bungalow with a log burner and large private garden to the rear. It has good virgin internet broadband available if needed, we also have satellite TV.
There is fantastic scenery and walks available in the Peak District with plenty of other attractions nearby such as Chatsworth house and Sherwood Forest.
If you don't drive there is a regular bus service to the local area towns close by, and a train service to major cities.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

You must be here each day to feed the cats in the morning and evening and keep the house warm and tidy, but days out are no problem and we have relatives fairly close for emergencies!!. Must be 100% reliable. You will be required to pay your own way (food, etc) but we will provide all the electric, heating and logs for log burner and of course the cat food.
You must be able to get your selves to our region of the UK but we can pick you up from the railway station if required.
We will require references.
