What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

We have two indoor/outdoor cats who need to be fed a couple of times per day but otherwise require minimal care. We count on our housesitters to stay in regular touch via email or similar.

What are the good features of the property and location

We are located by the ocean in rural Newfoundland, Canada, in a town of 2500. Our house is on the water in an area with ocean life including occasional whale visits. Seabirds and eagles are always present. Walking and hiking trails nearby. Historic towns in the area. St. John's, a city of ~120,000, is 50 km. (30 mi.) away.
The house is a storey-and-a-half, casually furnished with modern kitchen, LR, DR, TV room, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. All the usual kitchen and laundry appliances are present, plus internet/WiFi, and cable TV. Sit on our deck and watch the world float by.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

The town has a few small restaurants and convenience stores, a library, pharmacies, doctors, trials, marinas, police detachment. Supermarkets and other shopping will require a 30-45 drive. The location is quiet and safe. There is no public transit, but may be possible to arrange a car.
