Christmas stay in lovely coastal Maine with friendly loving dog December 21st - 27th

About this assignment

I have one very friendly and loving dog, she is a mid-size goldendoodle and is nearly 2 years old, and I am looking for a reliable and caring person to stay in my house and care for her while I am away for some days over this coming Christmas. Ideally you would arrive on Saturday December 21st, so that we have time to go over details together before my departure the next morning, and then I will be returning on Friday December 27th, so your stay would end then.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Caring for my dog includes walking her twice a day plus meals morning and evening. She is lively and playful and loves to interact, especially if you throw a ball for her to fetch. I have an electric fence, so when she has the corresponding collar on she is free to roam around outside on the property. At night she sleeps in a crate in the bedroom, and usually goes promptly to bed in the early evening. She can be left home alone for two-three hours at a time.

What are the good features of the property and location

My house overlooks a beautiful mid-coast Maine tidal river. My neighborhood is residential and somewhat rural, and it is a few minutes drive into local towns for restaurants and shopping. One of Maine's most beautiful beaches is within a twenty minute drive for morning walks. The house is new and airy and comfortable, and was built by my late husband who was an architect. I have a large television with Amazon FireTV, giving access to most streaming services (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, HBO etc.).

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

This is an unpaid position. Heat, hot water, electric, and wifi internet are all included at no cost to the sitter. Dog food and other supplies for my dog will all be provided. Veterinarian and animal emergency care information will also be provided. You will need a car as there is no public transportation to and from my location. I ask that during your stay there should be no overnight guests, and absolutely no parties or events held on the property. With regard to Covid-19, I am vaccinated and I ask that you be the same.
