About this assignment

We are a family living in a friendly area with good neighbours. We'd like our house sitter to be respectful of the people who live in the area and respectful to our home while giving our cat some affection and making sure he’s able to eat/be outside. The area and the city are fun so we’d love for you to want to explore!

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Feed the cat dry food once a day. Letting him out in the morning if he feels like it, and letting him out in the day/evening for a while when the roads are quieter and the primary school across the street is closed. Sometimes he stays out all night and you hardly see him, sometimes he’s keen to hang out and be a lap car.. Unfortunately, we don't have a cat flap, but he sleeps a lot during the day, so it's pretty predictable.

Stroke him if he’s up for a cuddle - which he will be!

What are the good features of the property and location

Our home is a three-bed house in St. Werburghs. We have a great high street with good quality food establishments, well-stocked corner shops, several decent local pubs, and two breweries and a butcher. 'The Mound' is nearby, where you have a great view of Bristol from high up and can watch the sunset with other friendly folk. We are close to the local city farm and an inspiring self-build project.

A 24-Hour Tesco, a Chinese supermarket, and an organic supermarket are very close.

It's a 20-minute walk into the city, down the River Frome. Stapleton Rd train station and buses from Stapleton Rd are a 10-minute walk and get you around and out of the city (Montpelier, Clifton, Filton, Parkway, Severn Beach, Cardiff, The Centre Bristol Templemeads, Bedminster, Western-Super-Mare). Other buses are 2-5 minutes from the house. Scooters are available at the end of the road if you have the stomach for it!

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

The potential house sitter will need to be able to feed and let the cat out every day.

You’ll get a taste for city life with a touch of village atmosphere.

We would appreciate the house is left as it is found when we come home.

The small Garden has been recently renovated so any new plants might need water in hot weather?

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.

Perfect Housesitting Experience in a Cute House with a Lovely Cat

Bluku the cat was affectionate and super easy to look after ???? Hazel was really friendly and even gave a great list of things to do in the area! There's lots of nice walks and cool cafes nearby. Location was good and there was public transport available if you want it. The house itself is very homey! It felt like a peaceful sanctuary after being in hostels for so long! Everything was clean, there was a super comfy bed and the TV had Netflix. Hazel also let me use their laundry detergent and washing machine ????????

Found my Favorite place to be

I totally felt in love with Bluku and Bristol. The vibes are so beautiful and it's a nice surrounding - hopefully I can come back soon! Bristol is perfect for artists and people who love art. Even though it's full of Parcs. It's a quiet place that can be loud if you want it to be. Bluku is one of the kindest cats I've ever met - maybe he might be the funniest cat as well.
