About this assignment
Looking for someone who loves dogs and will take good care of them. Someone who is honest and trustworthy. Would like updates and pictures while I’m away.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Keep the house clean, as well as caring for my 2 dogs. Must be a non smoker and drug free. Need the plants watered. I do require references.
What are the good features of the property and location
I have a fenced backyard in a newer development. Close to everything. 20 minutes from Mt. Rushmore. Walking trail around housing development. Exercise equipment as well.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
Must love dogs! Live in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. Hiking nearby or relax with a good book on the patio. Walking path around the development. Quiet neighborhood. 25 minutes from Mt. Rushmore. I do have a ring doorbell.

Exceptional sit in Rapid City
We had an exceptional house/pet sit at Ann’s home with Sam and Jake! Sam and Jake are very well trained and very relaxed. At first sight, their sizes were a little intimidating (especially Jake), but within a few minutes we saw how affectionate they are. I called them my “Gentle Giants”! Within an hour of meeting them for the first time, they were sitting next to us tapping with their paws to get pets! Jake would sit next to us and put his paw around our shoulders as if he were hugging us! I would say these two are the most affectionate pets we have had the opportunity to sit for as of this date. They both know their routine of when they eat, play, potty, kennel up and go to bed. With one word, they do exactly as commanded! Ann’s house is very comfortable and centrally located to see all the sites and National Parks in the area(Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, Needles Highway, Iron Mountain Road, Sylvan Lake, Rapid City, Sturgis, Deadwood, Spearfish, and many scenic byways as well as countless wineries and breweries along the way. Having a closed garage was a bonus being that we used the little convertible for the trip/ we did not have to close the top for the entire stay). This 2 week sit was amazing with all the things to do in the area, a very comfortable home and most important, two very affectionate and well trained pets.
