Riverside Finca with Horses in Andalucia

About this assignment

We have two fincas next to each other, each has about 100m of river frontage on the River Guadiana, 2 km south of the twin towns of Alcoutim and Sanlucar de Guadiana. We have fruit trees and we grow our own vegetables. The watering is automatic but the house sitter will need to make sure it is all working and eat the vegetables and fruit, freezing any surplus. It will also be fig season so eating and drying required! We swim in the pumped irrigation water tank so that needs cleaning every so often we have one house sitter in one finca but we need another to share the work and look after the horses, enjoy the peace, the solitude, the birds and the river. But in case you need to ask we do have internet!

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Looking after two horses....they graze outside all the time so no 'mucking out' required. Picking fruit and veg, freezing and drying surplus, making sure automatic irrigation does its job and cleaning the water tank so it is clean to swim in.

What are the good features of the property and location

Peace and Beauty! Soak up the tranquillity of a rural spanish finca with horses living the way they were meant to.....and of course we are on the river though we prefer to swim in the fresh crystal clear well water which we pump every day for irrigation. We are totally off grid though so if you have a car for trips in to town that is recommended.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

We are completely off grid so you need to be self reliant though we do have other fincas near us and another house sitter next door if you need help,or advice. It is hot so any work needs to be done early whilst it is still cool.
