About this assignment
Seeking mature, reliable, non-smoking, experienced pet/house-sitter(s) to care for our adorable yet quirky circa 1905 home, 1 indoor geriatric cat who rules the roost, an aging but active, SMART! and extremely loveable retriever and a 5 month old cocker spaniel puppy in an amazing, walkable neighborhood in east central downtown Salt Lake City. We love our neighbors and you will too!
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Animals will need to be fed 3x/day, support and continue/maintain puppy potty training and the dog walked at least 1x/day. Yard poop patrol as needed. Cat is indoors, litter boxes cleaned 2x/week. Be attentive to any health issues that might occur and get them to the veterinarian if necessary. Do not leave the animals unattended for more than 4 hours. Bring in mail. Minimal plant & yard care. The house will be clean when we leave. Keep the house in good condition and leave the house as found.
What are the good features of the property and location
The 9th&9th/Liberty Park neighborhood is a lovely, tree-lined and diverse neighborhood with parks, local shops, cafes, bars/pubs, grocery stores, an indy theater, and many restaurants all within walking distance. Nature, hiking and outdoor activities abound!
Our comfortable, informal home is an historic 2 story Victorian with a lovely (unfenced) backyard with RV parking available. The house has been renovated with a new kitchen and baths. We have Wifi, cable TV in 3 rooms (including Netflix), an outdoor BBQ, Central Heat and A/C, Dishwasher, Washer/Dryer.

Great pet and house sit in SLC
I had the extreme pleasure of caring for Phinley, Nubian and Sophia. Phin, is Mensa smart pupper who loves playing ball at the park, is a super snuggler, and guaranteed to steal your heart. NubNub loves to be cuddled when he’s not sitting in his sunbeam. Sophia aka Princess, is the most aloof out of the three, but guaranteed to be your purring scarf, on her terms. They are all extremely easy and a joy to care for with only a few essential daily tasks to complete to ensure their happiness and safety. I miss them all already. And these great pets unsurprisingly have fabulous owners. I cannot say enough of the warm and welcoming generosity extended to me by Dawn and Lori, who picked me up from the airport, took me to dinner at one of their thoughtfully considered favorite foodie places, and ensured that my stay was comfortable and well informed. They are great and wonderful company. In addition to filling me in with some great instructions, area suggestions and tips, they left a detailed booklet that answered any questions I could have possible conceived of. Time flew by in In their very comfortable and clean home which is located in the lovely East Central residential area of SLC. The area has walkable access to parks, groceries, restaurants and transit to the center of the city. A perfect spot to explore Salt Lake City from. Thanks once again to Dawn and Lori for trusting me with their wonderful pets and home. I highly recommend this sit and would love the opportunity to do it again.
