About this assignment

My wife and I are looking for a reliable individual or couple to stay in our mountain home and take care of our sweet rescue dog Juno while we are away on vacation.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Your primary responsibility is taking care of Juno, feeding and walking mostly. We wouldn't want her to be left alone for more than four or five hours at a time. Also tend to minor housekeeping so our home is in the same condition when we return.

What are the good features of the property and location

Our cozy timber frame home is set in a fabulous location at a downhill ski resort on the edge of the wilderness. Spring is a great time to visit with streams full of snow melt, songbirds returning, and plants reappearing. It's by far the best time to see bears since newly greening roadside vegetation is their first food source after awakening from winter slumber. It's not uncommon to see four or more bears on the drive between Golden and the resort. There's plenty of hiking and mountain biking trails nearby. You can use our full-suspension e-bikes. Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is a small community with few full-time residents so quiet solitude is guaranteed.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Some people would consider our location remote, but the town of Golden is only 13km away. There's no public transportation available so a car is required to go anywhere else. No smokers please.

Can I bring my own pets?

Yes
Restrictions: One dog only, no cats.
