I'm looking for someone who loves to be near the ocean, loves kitties, will play with and snuggle them. Non-smoker a must.
I am additionally hoping to find someone who can do house sits for me regularly, for long or short weekends, who lives fairly locally and can be available within a week's notice or more to cover sits that I don't have to post here when I need to go away. Even if these dates don't work for you, please message me if this would be a good fit for you!
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
The kitties are easy -- they are indoor-outdoor and so their litter use is minimal. They need food, water, litter, play, snuggles in front of the TV. Additional details -- get the mail, set the trash out on trash day, water plants, fill the hummingbird feeder, keep the house warm and watched. Keep in touch with me while I'm gone to give me reports.
No chickens at the sit anymore. They were rehomed.
What are the good features of the property and location
It's a ten minute walk to the ocean in Depoe Bay. The house is on a quiet, dead end street with tall cedars around it and the neighbors are friendly. There is a south facing deck, 65" TV and electric fireplace indoors. There is a whole house water filter for chlorine-free water to drink right out of the tap and for bathing. The Oregon coast is gorgeous and there is much to explore.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
The one trade-off of being on the Oregon Coast is that there are not lots of mainstream places to shop like Costco and Trader Joes, but there are regular grocery stores like Safeway, Fred Meyer, and Walmart and lots of cute little tourist shops and art galleries. You can sometimes hear buoys from the house, which hopefully won't bother you, and the weather here is never that hot or that cold -- stays about 50s and 60s in summer, 40s and 50s in winter.
I do a shoes-off house, so slippers are good to bring. I have an aversion to synthetic scents so please no perfume in the house. Always a good idea to bring your favorite pillow! :)

Wonderful pe
Nicole is a very thoughtful host. She was very thorough in how to take care of her pets and we knew exactly what to expect before we got there. The cats have a few additional dietary needs than your average cat but nothing we couldn’t handle. They were great to hang around with. The house is immaculately clean and very comfortable to stay in, with a nice backyard. Communication was great and the location on the coast is just lovely. I wouldn’t hesitate to pet/house sit again!

Great Depoe Bay House Sit
I just finished up an almost three week house sit for Nicole, having the great companionship of three cats and six chickens. The animals are all very well behaved, friendly, easy to care for and have fun individual characters. Nicole's house - located a short walk to Depoe Bay and great whale watching - is very comfortable, clean, well-organized and well equipped. Nicole is extremely friendly and gracious. She gave me a thorough tour of her place and needed routines, left very clear and complete written information and was available while traveling to answer questions. There's much to explore in the area, many great places to eat and if you like gazing at the ocean, walking beaches and watching wildlife, this is a perfect place to do all those things. I totally enjoyed sitting for Nicole and would easily recommend it to others. I'd be very happy return another time - Nicole and her animals are great to sit for!

Very clear specific directions
Nicole’s pets are adorable and easy to care for and she has a lovely, tidy and relaxing home in a quiet and wooded location in lovely coastal Depoe Bay. Communication is great, especially via Marco Polo. Nicole is easy to get along with and understanding about routine challenges, arrival and departure protocols, etc. Great location and great pets!

Beautiful home, and homeowner!
I had three different assignments with this homeowner and found her to be an absolute gem. She is thorough with instructions and very flexible, the kitties where a pleasure to hang out with, and wonderful to cuddle with. Her home is well kept and comfortable, along with being close to the Pacific Ocean. Walking trails close by and a cute little town. She is so appreciative and generous that I couldn’t imagine a better person to sit for.
