About this assignment
Honest, responsible person or couple, who will love and spoil our 7 year old English Springer Spaniel and our 2 year old Lab/Shepherd mix like we do, as well as care for our home while we travel to Hawaii over Thanksgiving.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Care for two needy and loving dogs named Kai and Sophie. Feed them two times a day, and take them out frequently to explore. Kai sleeps with us and is allowed on furniture. Sophie sleeps in her cushy dog bed and sometimes will sit on furniture. Pick up our mail. Feed the wild birds.
What are the good features of the property and location
We have a 2000 sq. ft. home built in 2018, with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths on 5 acres. It is located in rural SW Washington State, 1 1/2 hours drive from Portland Oregon and 1 hour to Astoria Oregon or the beach at Long Beach Washington. The property has views of the Columbia River shipping channel, a wildlife refuge, and on a clear day you can see Astoria Oregon. Many outdoor spaces for relaxing and logging roads to explore the woods right from here. The local town has a brewery if that interests you.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
This is a rural location. Our dogs are used to someone being here all the time and only left alone 4 hours or less when necessary.
