About this assignment

Hi. I'm Cory. I'm looking for responsible, clean dog sitter(s) who will take care of the 2 dogs and leave the house as I left it for about 2 weeks. You should be able to communicate and send pics and updates daily and let me know if there are any medical issues or concerns that arise.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

I have two big boys (dogs) who are my babies and my world. Louis is a 5 year old Berger Picard (french shepherd - watch Because of Winn Dixie to see how he acts) and Dakota is a 1.5 year old mix and maybe part fox?? Both are little lovers. Dakota needs (read that as will demand) your attention while Louis seems to be part cat and is fine sleeping on my bed all day and guarding the house from the couch or his bench by night.


No smoking in the house. I don’t care if you do outside - you can make friends with my neighbor who smokes on her front porch. Keep the house clean as you found it.
Pick up dog poop in the backyard. Play with the dogs and feed/water them. No walks necessary as I have a fenced in yard but I do expect that they are let out and played with back there.

If you leave the house, Dakota will likely still need to be crated so can't be gone longer than 7 hours.

Both dogs are pretty low key and easy to care for once you get over how much energy they have. Essentially all they want to do is be with you - how easy is that?

What are the good features of the property and location

3 bedroom lovingly cared for cape (mostly my own DIY touches and still some unfinished projects) within walking distance of Historic Lewiston with lots of restaurants and shops, including grocery and pharmacy. Friendly neighborhood. 7 miles from Niagara Falls and Fort Niagara. Lots of state parks nearby. Canadian border is less than 10 minutes away; Buffalo is 30 minutes away; Toronto is 1.5-2 hours away.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

I have wifi but no cable TV. Fenced in backyard. No real public transportation options are close by but we have Uber, Lyft and there is a free bus that will take you around all the tourist sites around Niagara Falls. Closest stop is ~1 mile away.

Can I bring my own pets?

Yes
Restrictions: As long as they all get along
