About this assignment
I am looking for People who can arrive a couple of days early and who are willing to get to know Tilly and her habits, before I leave. Tilly is very friendly, after getting to know you, and she is very much a part of my family and not a cat who is aloof and just eats and sleeps. She loves company and being groomed and stroked. She has a voice too and will let you know when she wants something.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
To keep Tilly safe and well fed.
To take care of the house as you would your own.
Ensure the safety of the property.
Ensure garbage and recycling are taken out.
Take care of general cleaning and maintenance
Take care of the incoming mail and relay to me for action
Deal with any emergency should one arrive.
Water indoor plants once a week
Water the small garden when necessary
What are the good features of the property and location
3 bedroom House
with back garden & garden furniture, not overlooked.
Car parking on driveway.
Choice of Double or twin bed rooms
Security shutters on all double glazed windows.
Modern furnishings. Open plan lounge and kitchen.
Modern bathroom with bath and over bath shower and 2 separate toilets.
Gas Central heating
Quiet neighbourhood close to Centre of Royan and Beaches.
Supermarket and Bakers Shops in walking distance and larger Supermarkets driving distance 5 mins.
Lots of places to visit and events taking place.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
You may need a car, but there is a bus service and shops in walking distance.
I have 2 bikes available, one is electric.
Happy to pick up from Airport La Rochelle or Bordeaux
The dates advertised include the stay before I leave so you can get to know Tilly, her routines and house issues too.
Can I bring my own pets?

Great stay with Tilly 'le chat'
Upon arrival, Gillian instantly made me feel very welcome in her Royan home. And Tilly 'le chat' and I were friends from the start. Gillian had very kindly rounded up a couple of her French friends, who were so kind to invite me for 'aperitifs' and show me around during my stay. It was a great experience to be amongst 'the locals'. I never felt like a tourist. And I guess being able to use Gillians bike to explore the area, surely added to that feeling. I'm sure that I'll see my Royan friends again ;)

A beautiful area minutes from the beach
Gillian was so welcoming by the time I got there I felt like I was visiting an old friend.. lots of information about what to see and do was introduced to some wonderful friends and neighbors. Tilly is a pretty special she definitely lets you know her needs and wants... she loves her outside space and will direct which chair you should sit in so she gets the most sun or shade depending on her mood...lol ????. She would often beat me into the bed at night so I would have to curl in around her.. just the way she likes it. A wonderful sit in absolutely beautiful area everything is within walking distance and the beaches are incredible. I would highly recommend Tilly's house and Gillian as a host if you get an opportunity

Five week house sit with Tilly, the cat.
Our host Gill is a really lovely person and gave us a great welcome and briefing prior to her departure. Gill went out of her way to ensure that we were comfortable and also introduced us to some of her local friends before she left. It was a pleasure for us to care for Tilly and Gill’s home in her absence. We look forward to visiting Gill in the foreseeable future.
