About this assignment
NOTE - Ideal dates are May 31 to June 7, but we can be flexible a few days either way as we have GREAT neighbors!
Looking for a responsible person or couple to enjoy our brand new (ok, three years old!) townhome in St. Pete. We have travelled to over 140 countries and filled our home with the art and stuff we have collected along the way. For us, its our personal museum. We hope a sitter would enjoy it, too. We have great neighbors that we know well, so no parties or loud noise and definitely no smoking
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
WE have an amazing and super friendly 14 year old cat - Ms. Lanka. She loves people and likes to cuddle on the bed at night. We leave food out in a bowl - so its just pooper-scoopering and making sure her water is full. Other than Ms. Lanka, it’s just to enjoy the area.
What are the good features of the property and location
St Petersburg is the hot spot in Florida right now. We are one block off of Central Ave in St. Pete (near 26th Street) in the Grand Central District. We are walking distance from 7 brewpubs, multiple restaurants, cool local shops and wine bars. We are 2 miles from downtown and a few miles from the St. Pete beaches. Garage parking for a single car can probably be arranged. We can also discuss ocasional use of our car. We also have mountain bikes, pickleball equipment and shuffleboard gear (the mothership of shuffle is here!) that can be used.
We also have a roof deck on the fourth floor with great breezes and amazing sunsets. There is a grill and table up there too!
You would be able to use the master suite area - a queen bed and large walk in shower in the bathroom. There is also a library / map room and even a guest bedroom on the first floor
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
You gotta love the cat! While our art may not have significant commercial value, this is 30 years of travel and very special to us. You'd need to be respectful of the stuff.
You will have access to the third floor master bed/bath and/or the first floor bedroom. An occasional guest is fine, but really looking for a single or couple to enjoy our space.
We have used MMH 6 times- and have 2 repear sitters and nothing but great results. Hopefully you will be equally GREAT

Everybody Loves Ms. Lanka!
Jay and I loved house- and cat- sitting for Ken & Stephen. We cannot say enough good things about them. Their home is beautiful; like a hand-picked art gallery of worldwide travels. We appreciated their detailed yet succinct cat-care instructions, as well as the little packet they left for us of what to do/how the house works, who to contact in case of an emergency, and things to enjoy in St. Pete. Needless to say, we fell in love with their cat, Ms. Lanka, and their town of St. Pete from the get-go. We also were grateful to have spent a little time with them before they left so that they could demonstrate how to care for their precious cat with special needs and so that we could connect a bit as fellow avid travelers (or at least we aspire to be like them). We highly recommend house-sitting for them; and, as long as our schedules permit, we would jump at the opportunity if we were invited back again. Best house-sit we’ve done to-date!

What a fabulous opportunity to meet Ken and Stephen and stay in their beautiful Historic Kenwood home while providing loving care for their precious cat, Ms Lanka! Their home is very comfortable in addition to being exquisitely decorated with art and artifacts from all over the world - but by far, Ms Lanka is the most beautiful of all their treasures. Ken and Stephen are most gracious hosts, maintained daily communication and provided care instructions as well as a list of fun activities for the Tampa Bay area. I recently had the pleasure of completing a house-sit with Miss Lanka (a cutie of a cat) at Ken & Stephen's amazing avant-guarde type imaginarium of a museum called 'their home'. The house was clean and exceedingly beautiful and they were perfect hosts. They not only kept in contact with me, they had the grace to send me pictures of the places they were visiting. And the unconditional love of Ms. lady-Lanka was icing on the cake. It was a perfect house-sit in and excellent location in St. Petes with kind and considerate hosts. Sweet Cat & Beautiful Home
We absolutely loved our stay at Ken & Stephen's home. Ms. Lanka (their cat) is so special and sweet. We even shed some tears leaving her. She slept with us every night and was just so adorable and cute. Ken & Stephen kept in touch throughout their travel and reassured us when we had questions about Ms. Lanka. Their house is in a save location and very close to a lot of amazing restaurants and bars and there is a trolley that brings you downtown & to the beach. The house itself is truly a piece of art as there as countless pictures and paintings that they have collected through all their travels. Every day we found something new & interesting to look at. We also enjoyed the beautiful and sunny rooftop and the very nice neighbors. We highly recommend them! Thank you so much! We can't wait to see you & Ms. Lanka again.
