About this assignment
I am looking for someone who is looking for a quiet and beautiful place to be. My apartment is set up for remote working so you might be working as usual- or just chilling and exploring central Italy from a quiet base.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
keeping my cat company, playing with him and feeding him twice a day. You will also need tend to my terrace mini-jungle with regular daily watering, and share the costs of utility bills while you are here.
What are the good features of the property and location
I have a beautiful terrace with garden chair for lounging away the hours enjoying the plants, and sky. I am a remote worker, so the wifi connection in my apartment is reliable and strong and I have a huge desk with adjustable standing desk for comfortable working. My town is quiet and picturesque with narrow cobbled streets of the Historic centre. The town itself is ancient from pre-Roman Falliscan times ( we have a Castello and archaeological museum 5 mins walk from my door) and the whole area is packed with historic remains and artifacts. Rome itself is connected by numerous trains and buses every day.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
If you want to really explore the surrounding countryside, hiring a car or motorbike would be an advantage. If suitable, I have a good bicycle whose use may be negotiated!
As the apartment is part of the Historic Centre, if you have mobility issues and will struggle with 2 flights of stairs (no lifts/elevators) then this is probably not for you!

A perfect summer in Civita castellana with Pookie
We have had the real privilege to sit for Rachel this summer and I can't even begin to describe how delighted we were to do so. We always wanted to stay in the Cita Vecchia and enjoy the real local town vibe and that was exactly what we got. Rachel has created a great guide with lots of useful information for us and from day one we were shopping with the locals at the Baker and the fresh pasta shop a few metres from her house. The area offers a lot to see and explore only an hour drive from Rome. Pookie is the most easy going, funny & loving cat and cuddling & playing with him was a joy. We were there in summer and the balcony with the beautiful plants was a great place to have our morning coffee while the new air conditioning unit has provided a relief in the hot hours. The house is suitable for active individual or a couple that will embrace the stairs & and walking around on foot. The shops & coffee shops are so close and the new town is just a. Few minutes away.
