About this assignment
Looking for someone who wants to travel to Kuala Lumpur and stay here for a few weeks. You must love cats, be responsible and clean. My place will be available from the 5th of June to 29th of June. (I will be leaving 5th June evening and arriving back 29th June evening but you are welcomed to stay from the 4th to the 30th).
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
I have two house cats Donnie and Jet, both 13 years old but are pretty active with no health issues, very playful too. Will need your help to feed them twice a day, vacuum the house every other day, clean and throw out their litter, fill their water bowls. This takes about less than 20 minutes a day, other than that they're pretty chill to be around!
What are the good features of the property and location
My apartment is located in an extremely central area connected to a mixed development (via a linked bridge) where there are plenty of restaurants, a supermarket, stationery shop, cafes, dentists, clinics, a chiropractor, several gyms, parcel shipping services, it has basically everything you'll need!
Next door is also a hospital in case of emergencies. There is also a night market on Tuesdays and a morning market on Thursday mornings. You can take the bus from bus stop in front of my apartment to the train station or even central KL (about 20-30mins). You can also use GRAB (a service identical to UBER) to get around quite easily.
In my apartment there is a pool, gym, Japanese onsen and Turkish style hammams, futsal court, Badminton court and sauna rooms which you are free to use.
The master bedroom, guest room and living room is fitted with air conditioning units. There are two bathrooms, a washing machine, fully equipped kitchen for cooking, basically anything you'll find in the home of a 30 something year old.
It's very quiet during the day and night as it's a relatively new apartment, lots of facilities within walking distance, you'll have everything you need. There is wonderful panorama view of the city at night. The cats are mostly silent and will not bother you but once awhile they might snuggle up to you for cuddles and head rubs. My home furnishing is modern and minimal, it's about 800sq ft but the store room will be locked while I'm gone, feel free to use the master bedroom (queen size bed), guest room (single bed), bathrooms (one for humans and the other for cats), kitchen and living room.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
I would like someone who will be able to be with them throughout the duration of this house sit, they are mainly fed a diet of raw wet food (kept in the fridge).

Like home in the other side of the world
From the moment I see Weiwen I could notice she is a very intelligent person. She will help you in every thing you need showing more calm than you hehe. She will recommend you many places to explore and if she doesn't know anything, she will find out. She is an excellent host! We are still in touch. She is a great and very nice person. You don't need to worry about traffic jam because you have everything you need downstairs. It is like an open mall with restaurants, cafes, supermarket, pharmacy, gym, hairdressers, a shop with small things for the house (it's called Mr DIY if I remember well) and even cobbler & optician which I used to repair my flip flops and glasses. If you can't find anything in this pharmacy, there is an area with many just 10-15mins walk. I cut my hand a little, but deep, cooking and it was very easy. I texted Weiwen. She calmed me down. :) There is a clinic downstairs and a hospital across the street. I didn't need to use the last one fortunately, just the clinic, and it wasn't expensive, around 18€, no sewing, just medical glue. The amenities of the building includes a swimming pool, hammam (Arabic sauna), onzen (Japanese baths, are basically hot pools), and some sports courts. I don't remember about a free gym. Not interested hehe. I tried the first three, but I am not a sauna person. The swimming is very relaxing. Jet & Donnie are the most timid cats I have ever seen. They will welcome you, but don't let you cuddle them after one (Jet) and two (Donnie) weeks. Then they will not separate from you. Donnie, the boss, laid down next to the laptop while I worked and even slept on the bookshelves of my bedroom from the second/third week, while Jet asked me for cuddles a lot, even though I love to give them all the time, even massages. :) If you want to move around I recommend you to use Grab, like taxi. It is cheap and so much more convenient than bus. I tried the bus once. I had to take 2, the second never turned up. For tours I hired Ivy Holidays to go to Taman Negara, the most important national park in the middle of the country for a day trip. I recommend you to walk a lot in Kuala Lumpur, even in the neighbourhood. There is a lot of contrast. Walk through the houses in front of the building. There is a market across the street. I went for fruit and veggies on Tuesdays nights. It was a wonderful experience, especially because Malaysia is a mix of cultures, but they all speak English, so it is easy to communicate. I enjoyed the cats, the house and the country a lot! It was a shame to spend just one day with Weiwen, but it is so nice to keep in touch with her.

Second time with Donnie and Jet!
I was so pleased to be invited back to look after these two fabulous kitties! This November was better weather than last! While the rain did come a few times it was generally for short spells, it didn't 'set in' like last year. The owner left clear instructions plus a brief written set of reminders. The flat is very easy to maintain and the cats are pretty low maintenance. I was with them for ten weeks last year and they were eating out of my hand in the end...they'd totally forgotten me of course. They were shy to start with and even hissed at me. I just backed off and in a few days they were all relaxed and we were pals again. There's a great mall next door for all you need. As before, no WiFi (or TV) but just buy an unlimited SIM for c. USD$10 and you'll be fine. I survived without using the AC just the ceiling fans with windows open an inch. In November it was pretty easy!! As I've mentioned in my previous review, the facilities at this condominium are exceptional. It is such a relaxing place. Very impressed. Thanks again to the owner for allowing me back :))

Jet and Donnie
I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to stay with Jet and Donnie for 11 weeks from November 2022. Their apartment is very comfortable and had everything I needed. It was close to literally hundreds of restaurants and was situated next door to an excellent mall with a large supermarket for total convenience. The faclities at the residence are absolutely next level. A huge swimming pool, saunas, steam bath, sports hall, Onsen (Japanese hot baths), childrens play area, an excellent gym...other stuff I've forgotten! This is a modern and new built place. It is just superb. Then there was Jet and Donnie who were the most adorable little cats I could wish for to keep me company. They took a week to get to know me and then a bit more before we were firm friends but I so enjoyed their company and affection. The apartment is in PJ which means it's abt 10km from the centre of town. There's a bus stop outside and of course Grab can take you anywhere you need to be for not very much at all. Remote workers may wish to note there is no wifi in the condo. This was fine for me as unlimited data for phone is very cheap in Malaysia with a generous hotspot allowance and fast too. If you get the opportunity to sit for Jet and Donnie then you have totally lucked out!! Well done you!
