About this assignment

I'm looking for a sitter who is experienced with dogs to primarily look after my 5 year old furry companion, to keep her safe and happy!

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

The main responsibility is to take care of Marlie, walking, feeding and company! The house is easily maintained, nothing special required, just to put out recycling on Monday morning.

What are the good features of the property and location

The house is in small market town (a convenience store, 2 pubs, 2 tea/coffee shops), within 5 minutes of Cheddar Gorge, 10 miles to Wells, and 1/2hr to coast (Burham-0n-sea, Weston-super-mare, Clevedon). It's a 5 minute walk to Cheddar reservoir, and the Strawberry Line walk/cycle path no 26 (goes from Yatton to Cheddar) is easily accessible, plus lots of public footpaths in easy walking distance. The house is a small semi-detached, newly renovated, with 2 double bedrooms in a quiet cul-de-sac, 2 minutes walk to the village square.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Marlie can initially be a bit anxious of new people, but she soon relaxes. She loves her walks and there are plenty of walks to do in the area, without needing to drive anywhere. She is best kept on the lead around other dogs, but loves to have a run around when possible.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.

An enjoyable time

I spent a lovely 4 days at Alison's home hanging out with Marlie. Alison is very friendly and welcoming. Marlie is a sweet, gentle dog, very well-behaved, and spending time with her was a pleasure. Alison's home is in a beautiful region of France and I enjoyed the villages, chateaus, and local markets. I highly recommend this house sit.
