About this assignment
We are seeking a pet-loving, tidy person! Someone to look after the girls and walk the dogs. Brushing the older dog regularly is helpful as she sheds fur. We have lovely neighbours so a sitter mustn’t be shy about asking for help or information.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Keeping the dogs and cat happy, fed & watered, and exercised. Giving them love and affection. Keeping the house clean and tidy, though we are not desperately house-proud! We prefer that garlic is not brought into the house especially in the fridge.
What are the good features of the property and location
We moved into this house when it was built, in May 2022. The neighbours are lovely - very friendly and helpful. Our garden backs onto woods, which is perfect for walking the dogs, and it is very quiet here. Because we are on a cul-de-sac there’s no passing traffic. The town centre has supermarkets, a butcher etc but there are also two mini markets within walking distance.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
Meggie is 9 and loves her walks. Dobbie is going blind and quite deaf; she’s 15. Our sitter needs a little patience! She is a rescue dog and only needs short walks on the lead. She's very slow, loving to sniff everything! The cat, Lady Sybil, is also a rescue but very affectionate. Ideally a sitter would come 24 hours early to meet the girls and help walk the dogs etc. The cat goes out regularly, though there is no cat flap; no need to worry about a litter tray!

Yvonne and Trevor are the loveliest people, they introduced me to their neighbours who I also became close with and I know we will stay in contact for years to come! Lady Sybil slept in my room every night and I adored walking the dogs in the park by their house - a great way to start the day! Couldn’t recommend enough and can’t wait to visit as soon as I can ❤️

Lovely people, beautifull animals and great place
I loved staying with them and their lovely pets. Communication was wonderful and the couple is super friendly. The whole neighborhood is a great community that is there to answer questions and help out if needed. The house is very nice, the area is safe, and the pets are just adorable. Their cat turned me into a catlady for sure :) Would sit for them again. Can totally recommend!

Wonderful Housesit
It was lovely to housesit for Yvonne and Trevor. They are wonderful people! The animals were very sweet and the house was very tidy. I would definitely return! I had a meal available when I arrived and also prepared one for them when they returned. I can't say enough about them, their caring community and the beautiful dogs (Meg and Dalby) and the cat, Lady Sybil.
