I am looking a house sitter who loves cats, because my cats are quite cuddly and need some attention and love :-) but also appreciate and take good care of my flat.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Mainly feeding and cleaning after my cats as well as cuddling and playing with him. Also to act in case of an emergency and go to a vet. But they are healthy cats.
Otherwise just keep clean and enjoy the mountains, lake and Switzerland in general.
What are the good features of the property and location
It is a sunny 4.5 room flat incl. 1 bedroom, 1 large open living area with seating area and open kitchen, large balcony, 1 guest room, 1 office and 2 bathrooms (one with a shower and one with a bathtub). It is in walking distance near Obersee (lower part of Lake Zurich) ( 8 min walk) and good connection to ski areas and hiking areas (1.5 hours to Davos, 30 min to Flumser Berg). Parking in a garage is included.
The apartment is very bright and sunny. Lots of hiking trails start directly behind the apartment.
There is a direct connection to the airport and Zurich main station that runs every 30 min. Takes approx. 40 min.
The small town of Altendorf is very cute and quiet and has everything one could need in walking distance
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
I have two rather large Maine Coon cats that love attention and sleeping in bed with you.
You can reach the apartment by train and bus or by car with a parking spot.
It is also possible to adapt the time frame a little if it is better suited for you as we have not booked flights yet, so we are a bit flexible.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Tania in Altendorf Switzerland. Tania did a fantastic job of showing me around the apartment and answering any questions about the area. The real stars of the visit were the two Maine Coons. Francis and Luna were absolutely beautiful, loving and playful. Each one had its own unique personality, and watching them play was a joy. Tania did a great job of communicating over text while away and the cats were a pleasure to spend the weekend with!

Lovely experience in Switzerland
I have never been in a house so full of fluffy love as Tania's! Her two lovely cats are surprisingly friendly and lovable. A little shy at the beginning, in a few hours they were already walking on my belly asking for cuddles. Tania is a very kind owner, funny and easy to communicate with. Her house is comfortable, essential and shiny, very close to the lake and in a very nice area with a lovely view. Moreover, during my assignment in which I was making sure her cats were ok, she daily texted me making sure I was ok, a rare quality that I appreciated a lot. I would absolutely recommended Tania and her fluffy babies to any cat lover.

Very kind and trustworthy cat/home owner
I had the immense priviledge of taking care of Tania’s gorgeous cats Luna & Frances over Easter Holidays 2024 in her modern and stunning flat in Richterswil (I wish i could have stayed forever!) She had the courtesy of picking me up from the bus station on my first day, which i really appreciated, and was very helpful throughout my stay (and ahead!) with indication about the city and its surroundings. Everything was easy and peaceful, the cats and i spent most of our time on the couch with books and snacks, watching the mountain view from the window..They both have different personalities and get on super well with each other, wich is heartwarming to witness actually ! I couldn’t have wished for a better cat/flatsitting experience after a long and cold winter. I wish you Tania good luck for your relocation, and hope to meet all of you soon for a round 2 ????

Two big lovely cuddlecats
Big recommendations! Tania is a very lovely person with whom it was very easy to keep in contact and get in touch for every question. Luna, the smaller female cat, was very cuddly from the beginning, while at the same time knowing exactly what she wants. Francis, the very big male cat, was hiding at first, but warmed up quite a lot quickly. My first night, he just came to bed and laid his big cuddly body on me. I enjoyed my stay a lot, and also the flat has a beautiful terrasse, which the cats and I enjoyed together.

House sitting for Tania and taking care of her adorable cats, Francis and Luna, was an absolute pleasure. Tania was incredibly organized, providing clear instructions for the house and detailed information about her pets' routines and preferences. Francis and Luna were such a joy to look after! They were friendly, affectionate, and well-behaved. Tania’s place is well connected with Switzerland train system which makes it very easy for day trips to Lucern, Basel and even Lichtenstein.

Tania is a great host! Wonderful experience with Francis & Luna
It was a pleasure to stay at Tanias place in Switzerland, close to Lake Zurich. I had a really special time staying here and would be happy to be back again! The communication with Tania was great right from the outset. Tania is amazingly friendly, great at checking-in, and I felt really welcomed. Her two wonderful Maine Coons Francis and Luna are majestic and healthy cats, so it was fun'n'cuddles to live with these majestic creatures for 10 days. The bright and modern apartment feels spacious and clean; the bed is super comfy! All necessary amenities that make life more comfortable are available. I got to explore the surrounding area, there are many hiking routes to discover smaller lakes, beautiful rivers, idyllic meadows and mountains close by. Public transport connection is great and a couple different shops and restaurants are also in reach. I went for swims in the Lake Zurich almost daily, which was one of my highlights of this experience. Invigorating feeling!

Peaceful setting with two loving cats
Sitting for Tania's two Maine Coons was a delight. Before and during the sit, Tania was easy to communicate with and very accessible. She filled us in on the cats' quirky behaviors and made us feel very comfortable and welcome in her apartment. Tania was always friendly and timely in her communications. Frances and Luna are two of the most confident cats we've met. They live a good life and are happy to share their snuggles. They can entertain themselves (or sleep) but love a game of hide and pounce as well. Tania's apartment is clutter-free and stylishly decorated. We enjoyed having a washer and dryer in the apartment and being able to store our bikes in the secure garage area. Her home is a 10-minute (hilly) walk to a big grocery store but there is also a fabulous gourmet food store almost across the street with all the delicious food you'd need. Access to the train and Zurich is not far but there is an excellent hiking trail along a river behind her home and it is easy to get to the more rural parts of the area by bike. Or you could just relax in her peaceful apartment which is filled with natural light and has a view of Lake Zurich. What more can you ask for? It was all excellent.

Wonderful cat in a beautiful home
That was a great house sit with your two cats! The cats are want to cuddle a lot and are very sweet. The apartment beautiful and in great location! Communication with Tanja was easy and she responded very quickly. Thank you very much for the nice time !
