About this assignment
Trustworthy, sincere, and considerate person who will appreciate and care for our home and our 2 dogs, Lincoln and Laila. The sitter must enjoy well trained and behaved Vizslas who need to burn a bit of energy but then will settle down and just want to hang out.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Pets: Morning walk in our master plan community between 1.5-2 miles. It varies on outside temperature and humidity. Feed 2 X daily.
House: Basic observation of the house. There's no real maintenance required. The house was built in November 2023. Basic cleaning that a sitter would perform in his/her own house.
What are the good features of the property and location
Our home is located between Tampa, St Petersburg and Sarasota Florida east of I-75 in the town of Parrish. The house is situated in a master planned community with community amenities. The home is 2K sq ft and the sitter would have his/her room and full bathroom. The community offers conservation/nature preserves, hiking and biking trails at Little Manatee River State park which is only a 10 minute drive from the home. The community has retail/commercial offerings in Parrish located 7-10 minute drive from the community. In Parrish and Ellenton you will find retail, grocery, and local restaurants. There are 2 major recognized state parks mountain/trail biking parks just 10 minute drive from our community one of which sits on a major state park that offers equestrian, kayaking/canoeing, trail hiking and bird watching. We are located 45 minutes by car to major beaches in Sarasota, Anna Maria Island, St. Pete Beaches, and Fort DeSoto Park. If you are into equestrian, I can provide several horse ranchers who will meet you at the state park and you can ride.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
This is our second time using this site and our sitters have other commitments during this timeframe. At a minimum, a phone conversation and if possible an in person visit (or zoom/FaceTime) to get the dogs/sitter to know each other. Our dogs are well trained but they do need a solid walk every morning so please consider the physical aspects of this sit. Lincoln and Laila are lap dogs and love to cuddle.

There was a wonderful fenced in living space with a swimming pool that backed up to a beautiful wooded nature trail which we used to take their two adorable dogs, Lincoln and Laila, for twice-daily walks. I have house-sat before on over 20 occasions and they were the most well behaved and trained dogs we have seen! Both have wonderful and affectionate personalities that made our whole overall house-sitting experience a real pleasure. Instructions were simple, organized, and detailed.
