About this assignment
I am looking for a kind, non-smoking, calm person who knows how to take care of cats, who is respectful with my medieval house, knows how to take care of plants and is independent with a car. I am asking only seriously interested and committed people to get in touch. Thank you!
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
I have Kittycat, a smart and kind male cat who needs some attention. The house is situated in a medieval village in the Southern French countryside, in the middle of a nature park. Feeding and cuddling the cat, being attentive and sitting the house a bit.
What are the good features of the property and location
Individual house in a beautiful village over three floors, a perfect location for hiking tours, the Mediterranean Sea 1 hour car drive away. Many rivers, lakes and mountains to discover, as well as chateaux and medieval sites.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
You need a car, since there is no public transport from the village to bigger towns, no shopping facilities. It would be great if you could take care of watering some smaller plants around the house. The two stairs in the house are quite steep.
Can I bring my own pets?

Housesitting that felt like vacation
We’ve been taking care of Anne-Marie’s beautiful Finca and sweet cat for two weeks. Communication with Anne-Marie upfront was very uncomplicated. She’s a very warm and friendly person and we felt welcome and like home right from the beginning. Her cat Kittycat is so lovely and easy going. After a couple of days we already took her in our hearts so that saying goodbye was really hard! We really do hope to get another housesitting chance to meet Anne-Marie and Kittycat again!

Oasis of calm
I spent just short of a week at Anne-Marie's finca in Finestrat looking after Kittycat. Anne-Marie is a lovely lady who is friendly and outgoing and it was a pleasure to meet her. She made sure that I had all the information I needed for the care of Kittycat and the finca, and some emergency phone numbers just in case. The finca is a beautiful oasis of calm and the casita I was staying in was well appointed and comfortable. Kittycat was a delight to look after, so friendly and easygoing . I spent most of my time at the finca because it was so beautiful but I also explored Finestrat, Font del Moli and La Vila Joyosa which is well worth a visit. I would definitely go back if I were lucky enough to be invited.
