About this assignment

Ideally looking for a couple. You will ideally already have experience in pet sitting. We are looking for honest, reliable, capable sitters who can be trusted with the care of our home and much loved pets in our absence. Our pet sitters must have a genuine love of looking after cats and dogs. Our cats are shy and nervous around new people so our sitters need to gradually gain their trust Our travel dates are not yet to be 100% confirmed but will probably be 30th March to 12th April 2025 (flights not yet booked so we have a little flexibility at the moment).

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

To feed and care of our four cats and our 2 year old male Labrador. One cat stays indoors all the time, the other three are allowed outside in the daytime but stay indoors overnight. Our dog enjoys a daily walk along mountain trails above our house so a reasonable level of fitness and genuine enjoyment of trail walking is required.

What are the good features of the property and location

Our home is in Lapta, a traditional seaside village in North Cyprus (Turkish side). It is a beautiful area to enjoy trails in the Kyrenian mountains and the seaside Lapta walkway. Our pet sitters stay in comfortable, well appointed accommodation comprising of a sitting room, kitchen and en-suite double bedroom. WiFi and Netflix included. Please note, the property is not suitable for children.

For more information on the area, please check out Lapta, Northern Cyprus online. The map location on this site is not correct.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Lapta is in the TRNC ( the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus). You can arrive via Larnaca airport in the South of Cyprus and take a taxi to Lapta, or fly into Ercan Airport in the North, via Istanbul. The village centre is just a short distance from our home and provides for basic day to day needs. We are not able to provide the use of a car but can help organise a hire car should this be required for all or part of the stay.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.
