About this assignment
I am looking for a responsible person or persons, who enjoy living with and looking after animals. They need to be quite self-sufficient, although nice friends and neighbours are around to offer support.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Feed, look after and love our animals! Take the dog for a walk if possible, stroke the cats and be kind to the horses. Keep in touch and keep me informed every now and then.
What are the good features of the property and location
Our house is a simple cortijo in the Spanish countryside. It is approximately 5km from the nearest village, Tabernas (famous for its desert landscape used as background for many Spaghetti Westerns and still a popular filming location), and half an hours drive from the nearest city, Almeria, as well as beautiful Mediterranean beaches.
We are off the main road, but luckily have friendly neighbours.
The house sits on a flat plot of land, of approximately an acre, with mountain ranges in the background.
The house consists of living room, kitchen, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, utility room and 3 outside seating areas. There is a small raised pool for use in the summer months.
In addition, there is a basic open stable building and adjoining tack room.
The property is fully walled/fenced in and safe.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
Due to the distance to the village and shops, you must be able to drive. Use of my car is a possibilty although I would prefer you to have your own transport.
Can I bring my own pets?

Lovely animals in a nice location
I spent almost 3 weeks at Christina's house. She was very enthusiastic from our first discussions and welcoming when I arrived. I was free to arrive a few days before his departure and left the day after his return. The animals are adorable and I had great pleasure spending time with them for cuddly moments. They all have their own routine and it was very easy to take care of the horses. The property is friendly and the town of Tabernas is a very close drive with all the amenities we need. I was able to discover the desert and, a little less than an hour by car, Cabo de Gata and Mojacar. I was not able to use the swimming pool in this season but it was good to enjoy the sun during the day on one of the terraces. It gets colder in the evening and early in the morning.
