About this assignment
Someone to look after my house and 1 adult cat while I am away. The house is a 3 bedroom 3 bathroom modern style side split backing onto a forest ravine.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Looking after my indoor cat Basil. He needs to be fed 3 times a day with dry kibble and once a day with wet food. He needs fresh water daily and his litter box scooped out twice a day. He doesn't require any medication. Keeping the house clean and making sure everything in the house is working properly.
What are the good features of the property and location
Walking distance to public transportation. 30 minutes to downtown Toronto. Located in a quite suburb with a backyard backing onto a ravine.
Entrance to a nature reserve with paths running through the forest is located 200 feet from the house.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
Taking care of my indoor cat with respect to feeding and cleaning litter box.
Keeping my house clean and tidy while staying here. Keeping in touch with me occasionally for updates.
Can I bring my own pets?

Wonderful house sitting experience with Basil in Toronto, Canada!
Our time house sitting in Canada with the charming tomcat Basil was simply fantastic! 🐾 From the very beginning, Basil impressed us with his loving, alert and cuddly nature. He is a real bon vivant who loves to watch birds and squirrels or just purr on the sofa. But he is also a very curious cat who loves to run around the house. We definitely had a lot of fun together. We spent 2 months in the winter wonderland of Canada/Toronto. After not having a real winter for a long time, it was a great time to finally have lots of snow and still enjoy good weather. Jeff and Lynda's house is really nice and super cozy. We even saw coyotes behind the house a couple of times. We had a very relaxing time and felt right at home. Jeff and Lynda are two lovely people and we hit it off right away. We kept in touch with them about how we were all doing and sent them regular pictures and videos of their cat, Basil, which made them very happy. We enjoyed every minute with Basil, whether it was playing, cuddling or just relaxing together. We miss him already and would love to see him and them again.

A Purr-fect Pet Sitting Experience
We had the privilege of caring for Basil, the adorable feline, who owns Jeff. We are so thankful to Jeff and Lynda for their hospitality and the heartwarming moments and connections we had. From the moment we stepped into Jeff and Lynda's home, we were greeted by a loud purr, curious whiskers, and soulful eyes. Basil has a unique personality—a delightful puzzle waiting to be solved. Jeff is a very protective dad and it was an honor for us to be entrusted with his beloved family member. He gave clear instructions on Basil's feeding schedules and Basil was such an easygoing cat. The house sit was not just about Basil's physical care; it was about creating a sense of security and love. Basil wove his magic with silent grace. He curls up on windowsills and basks in sunbeams. We spent evenings listening to his gentle purrs, feeling the rhythm of his contentment and occasional grooming that he would gift us with! There was something magical about late nights when he would have long conversations with us and we appreciated these quiet hours with Basil. He is shy at first, peeking from behind furniture or hiding in cozy nooks but patience pays off. When the time came to say goodbye we left a piece of our heart behind. Jeff and Lynda's home is an oasis bordering on a beautiful ravine, where you can go for long walks. There is every creature comfort that one wants to enjoy one's stay. Thank you again Jeff and Lynda, for these unforgettable moments, and to Basil who has graced our path, thank you for the paw prints on our hearts.
