One cat has special dietary and medication requirements. His medication is really easy; it's a tablet that he gobbles right up!
I'm looking for a responsible, mature, and self-sufficient couple for a long-term house-sitting opportunity from late May 2025 to October 5, 2025. My home is in Playa Corona, Panama, near the beach and close to San Carlos, Panama Oeste.
You'll be caring for my beloved pets: five cats, Bailey (a lively 1.5-year-old Doberman mix), and a chicken. This is an unpaid position, offering free accommodation near the beach in exchange for property care.
Previous house-sitting references are required.
1. Animal Care
• Feed all animals twice daily.
• Ensure all animals have fresh water daily.
• Bring the cats inside at night to protect them from predators.
• Bailey stays outside on the porch overnight.
• Monitor the animals for any signs of illness and contact a vet if needed.
• Keep the feeding areas clean and tidy.
• Dispose of pet waste regularly (yard, litter boxes, etc.).
• Occasionally groom the animals (brushing, flea/tick checks, etc.).
2. General Maintenance & Home Security
• Address basic repairs and upkeep as needed.
• Notify me if any major issues arise.
• Check security cameras periodically to ensure they are functioning.
• Keep an eye on the property for any signs of intrusion or unusual activity.
• Ensure doors, windows, and gates are secure at all times.
3. Pool & Property Maintenance
• Vacuum the pool regularly.
• Run the filter daily.
• Check and balance pool chemicals as needed.
• Remove leaves and debris from the pool.
• Check for property damage after storms (roof, fences, trees, etc.).
• Check for mold or mildew in all buildings and clean/treat any spots that appear
• Water any plants or trees that may need attention.
4. Payments for Services
• Pay the gardener and house cleaner upon completion of their work using the money I provide.
6. Emergency Preparedness
• Know the location of emergency shut-offs (water, gas, electricity).
• Have emergency contacts (mine, a handyman, a trusted neighbor, vet, etc.).
• Beach Access: Short drive or walk to the beach
• Convenient Location: 15 km from shopping in Coronado
• Central Position: Between Coronado, Río Hato, and El Valle de Antón
• Privacy & Seclusion: Located at the end of a quiet dirt road
• Natural Surroundings: Spacious property with abundant trees and fruit plants

Playa Cornona: Best kept secret. George's home and his gang: A real bonus
I had the absolute pleasure of house sitting for George and his adorable mixed gang. George made me feel comfortable and at home from the get-go and explained and even demostrated every little inch of the place before he left and checked in with me while gone. He has added every conceivable convenience and everything is in top working order. The tiny pool was a god-send and I did take full advantage of it. His little "estate" is so perfectly set back from any hustle/bustle on a dead end road about half way to one of the best kept secret beaches in Panama: Playa Corona. The house has everything you might need and you can see and feel the love that George put into it to make it so. Regarding "the gang", The laid back pup (I see there's a new lil guy now) had his own routine and favorite nap spots. The cats, I swear, all wore watches as they magically appeared at meal and bedtime. During the day went off to do whatever they did! lol The chickens were the most fascinating. Don't let anyone tell you that chickens are not intelligent. They were in their coup during the day (bonus: fresh eggs!) and let out at night. In the morning, they'd pop their heads out from the compost or wherever they might be doing their insect population control jobs and would RUN to me knowing that I had breakfast. They willingly and obediently went into their cage to produce my next day's breakfast. The route to the beach was an easy walk that opens up to reveal one of the most spectacular pristine beaches you will ever experience. Walking the beach either to the river or the other way to the rocks whose layers reveal the many years of change is the best therapy one could get at any price...and this is free! There's a mini market on the way with anything you might need. Nearby along the highway are all of the more well-known amenities and activities within a short drive or a very cheap taxi ride. I so appreciate George sharing his oasis with me and trusting me with his precious and very entertaining clan.
