House & Pet Sitter in Abruzzo

About this assignment

We are looking for someone reliable, trustworthy, good with dogs & cats! Be open to an adventure in the Italian mountains. We are located 3 hours east of Rome in the Apennine mountains.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

The sitter will mind our house in Abruzzo along with 2 dogs and 2 cats. One dog is a friendly cuddly Vizsla who lives in-doors with us. The other is a rescued German Sheppard who has his own fenced in area outside. Who does not like strangers, and therefore just needs to be fed and pen hosed out. If you have an issue with aggressive dogs please do not apply, however you will not be in direct contact with this dog. One cat is an in-door, and the other is out-door.
Our Vizsla will need to be walked most days, depending on the weather.

What are the good features of the property and location

Located in beautiful Abruzzo, Italy. 2 minute walk to town of 2000 people. 20 minute drive to mountains. 45 mins drive to beach.
House is in good condition, but currently under going some cosmetic renovations.
There is running water, boiler, toilet, shower, bedroom, electricity, TV, functioning kitchen, washing machine, Starlink wi-fi.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

The main consideration is our guard dog, who will be kept separate from you at all times, however he does not like strangers near his pen. However after a while he will warm to you. You will just need to make sure his water and food is topped up. He can be fed from outside the pen.
Also understand the house has its own characteristics, it is totally livable but not cosmetically pleasing lol.
We are located 3 hours from Rome airport, and we will have to take our car with us so you will need transport. However the town, within 2 minute walk, has everything you would need.
