Two Catalonian cats in need of company in Girona - a gem of a medieval city in Catalunya, Spain

I am looking for an upbeat individual/couple with kindness, warmth and understanding of all animals - cats, in this case - plus respect for my home and my neighbours.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

I have two cats needing food twice daily, a clean litter box, affection and some play time. My tiny garden, in pots on the terrace, will possibly need watering, depending on the rainfall. You will be welcome to the fresh produce, although there won't be much in March.

What are the good features of the property and location

My unique, refurbished flat is situated on the top three levels of a 175 year old house in Barri Vell (Old Town) Girona and has a large terrace overlooking the River Onyar. My building features in the pictures of Girona showing the 'hanging houses'. It has wifi, air conditioning, dishwasher, washing machine, 2 beds/2 baths, living/dining area, and kitchen conveniently leading to the large terrace where you can eat your meals or kick back and watch the sunset. From the station, which is a 15 minute walk from my home, it is a one hour bus/train ride to several coastal towns and beaches. Barcelona is 38 minutes away by high speed train and 70 minutes by normal train. Beautiful Banyoles Lake is 30 minutes by bus or an hour and a quarter by bike. It was the location for the 1992 Summer Olympics' rowing events. You can walk or jog around it or take out a boat and do your own rowing. Girona is a fascinating medieval walled town with narrow cobbled streets and a rich history which can be discovered on foot and in the numerous museums and parks. Cycling, hiking and walking are popular activities and can be done on the Vies Verdes (designated green trails) or in the mountains, both of which can be accessed right from my door. You can rent road, gravel and mountain bikes to cycle the fabulous forest and mountain routes, or just use the city bikes to get around. You can work out at a good gym or pool on a pay-as-you-go basis. I am vegan and can vouch for the vegan and vegetarian restaurants nearby.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

There are 3 flights of stairs to my flat and 2 inside. My cats are not overly cuddly but will sit with you and love it if you initiate some play. Cinnamon is six months old and feisty! Caramel can be scared of people initially, but can also be very affectionate and end up on your lap.
My street is very popular because of the fascinating local shops and restaurants and access to the famous cathedral where filming of the Game of Thrones took place. During festivals, parades end up coming down this street and are such fun to watch from the balcony. Voices waft up from the street below, but the main bedroom is on the quieter, river side with a beautiful view and ducks, birds, fish and nutrias enjoying the water. The ground floor shop is owned by Jose, who is one of the three residents of the building and very friendly and helpful.
