About this assignment

Hi :) we’re looking for a reliable, kind, communicative and non smoking person or a couple that have experience in injecting insulin to a cat and measuring blood glucose. Our two fur babies are very easy and open beings who are used to receiving lots of love and being treated with respect and kindness.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Responsibilities include all the usual cat care such as giving food, changing toilet litter and offering cuddles. But one of our cats has diabetes which includes: giving insulin shots at regular times twice a day at 7:30 & 19:30, checking for blood glucose before giving the shot as well as couple of times during the day before giving a snack.
In addition, watering plants and taking the letters out of the postbox.

What are the good features of the property and location

We have a very comfortable three bedroom house in a very quiet, clean and green neighbourhood only at a 30 mins easy ride with public transport from Zurich city centre, or 15 mins by car. Lots of walks in nature with just leaving the house and lake close by. We have two very sweet balconies to enjoy the good breeze and rest your eyes on the fields. We have our own wash room (unusual in Switzerland) and whether it’s light or heating the flat accommodates your needs and makes for a perfect holiday home.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Please apply only if you know how to care for a diabetic cat. I’m happy to teach you but if you come from abroad that might be a bit difficult.
Because of the special condition I'd like to have daily, short communication about my cat’s glucose reading to ensure that he’s safe. Communication makes me feel relaxed and safe and it's an absolute must. Our regular and loyal cat sitter lives right by and she knows our cat very well. We have a mobile vet who'll make a house visit if the need arises. In general, our cats are easy to handle.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.
