About this assignment

I am looking for a kind & gentle but ALPHA type person, who can handle birds and firmly let them know who is boss! Someone to keep them company and let them have some out of the cage time. I know it's probably too late to find someone for the dates I put but please reach out to me if you could ever be interested because I can plan around you!

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Your responsibilities would be to feed and entertain my birds. That's it.
Of course that's huge… Anyone that knows Birds know that it's nothing like caring for a dog or a cat. It can be all consuming, but if you take them for a walk, pet them & give them some playtime outside their cage, maybe 4 hours total, including the feeding ...they're really good souls. If you are familiar with cockatoos, they just really like attention and are up to trying anything to get it.

What are the good features of the property and location

I have an incredibly good location. You would stay in a converted classroom in an old school house snap dab in the middle of a cemetery -a 12 minute walk to the center of town. Warren Street, located in Hudson New York, is a destination location with people taking the two hour ride up from NYC just to have dinner!! They also come for the antiquing & gallery hopping. Hudson New York was home to many Hudson River school painters, many of whom made Hudson their final resting place, which is your front and backyard :) Olana, Frederick Church's Beautiful estate is less than 20 minutes away!!
I have ample room for you to come check things out and get a feel for the birds and the place to see if its a good fit... if it is then I'll plan my getaway!!

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

I really do need someone who is not afraid of birds and feels like they can take control of the situation and let the birds know who is boss. They are very well behaved, but they do like attention. I think someone with big parrot experience is not essential but would be an asset, and like I said the dates I put can be extended or shortened

Can I bring my own pets?

Yes
Restrictions: I guess if wont eat my birds!!
