I’m looking for a house sitter who truly loves animals, communicates openly, and is reliable. My pets are like family, so it’s important that they feel safe, cared for, and get plenty of love while I’m away. I appreciate someone who keeps me updated (every 2-3 days) and can handle daily tasks like feeding, walking, and cleaning up after my pets. It’s also important to have someone who is mindful of my home, keeping it tidy and handling any unexpected situations responsibly. Above all, I’m looking for someone who will treat my home and pets as if they were their own :)

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

I would like my sitter to take care of daily tasks like feeding and watering the pets, cleaning the cat litter, walking the dogs, and keeping the home tidy and clean. These simple routines help keep my pets happy, healthy, and comfortable while maintaining a welcoming and organized space for both you and them! That being said, I don't think it'll take you more than 2 hours a day to complete these "tasks" which will leave you with plenty of time to explore the city!

What are the good features of the property and location

I hope you'll enjoy the fully equiped kitchen, furnished guest bedroom (queen size bed), prime location across the street from a park and stunning sunset views over the Rocky Mountains right from the couch. It’s within biking distance to downtown, RiNo, Capitol Hill, and Congress Park, and nestled in a quiet, safe neighborhood with helpful neighbors. You’ll also enjoy being close to great restaurants, bars, and nightlife. Additional amenities include an in-unit washer and dryer, a workout room with a treadmill and weights, and a backyard that makes it easy for dogs to go out and do their business without you having to walk them! I'm happy to provide a list of everything in the surrounding area to make exploration easy and fun!

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

House sitters should consider having their own car for emergencies, grocery shopping, and exploring Denver and beyond. They should also be comfortable with snow and cold weather in December. Animal lovers will feel right at home since the pets are affectionate—one of the dogs will likely want to sleep with you! Additionally, like most border collies, my female dog likes to chase squirrels and can be "reactive" to other dogs on a walk. For these reasons, I like to go on walks together before I leave to make sure you feel at ease handling these behaviors. I simply avoid other dogs by crossing the street, and being mindful of surroundings in general. This has never been a problem for previous sitters (happy to provide their contact information), and I'm happy to answer any questions!

Keeping the home tidy, especially managing pet hair, is important; I have two Roombas that run daily to help with this. Additionally, I want my sitter to enjoy all that Denver has to offer, but would appreciate if my sitter ensured the animals are not left alone for more than 8 hours a day. If a house sitter needs to be away for a few days, we will need to prearrange alternative pet/house sitting care together.
