We're a retired couple in our 60s looking for a mature, responsible person who loves and understands cats to look after our buddy Ollie while we go on a much needed vacation. Our ideal candidate is someone who'd enjoy being a companion to our cat Ollie. We would consider the right couple as well.
Ollie is 3 years old, indoor-only, and loves/needs to play twice a day. We try to give him a minimum of 10 minutes per play session. Ollie loves interaction, but being a cat, he also sleeps quite a bit throughout the day. He also often sleeps with us at night, so hopefully our sitter won't mind that.
We live in a sweet 2-story, 2-bedroom cottage among 3 other cottages just a mile over Seattle's north border, in Shoreline. Downtown Seattle is 10 miles away, but since the city is quite long from north to south, many of its charms are not far from us. There are plenty of parks and things to see and do nearby without going all the way downtown. We're 6 miles from the lovely litle town of Edmonds, right on Puget Sound where one of the region's many ferries comes and goes. The houses in our area are surrounded by tall Douglas fir trees, and the street and neighborhood are quiet. Although a car would be ideal, we're a few blocks from various bus routes and the wonderful Central Market grocery store. Other stores, restaurants and fast food options are all nearby. The light rail station is 2.5 miles away. Our neighbors (in the other cottages) are wonderful: mature, quiet and helpful. We have excellent wi-fi, a cozy gas fireplace, a kitchen nook for eating, a dishwasher, washer and dryer. There's a bathroom upstairs with shower/bath, and one bathroom down. The main bedroom has a queen bed, and the second bedroom has a full bed. (No picture at publication time, may be added.) There's a digital full size piano in the living room too.
Ollie is indoors-only. We've had him for a year; this would be his first time with someone new. He has turned out to be a wonderful and quirky cat, full of energy and also cuddles once he gets used to you. Ollie can startle easily and runs at sudden noises and unexpected movements, but he recovers almost instantly and is back to his cute self. For any potential sitter, we would need references, plus let’s do a video call to meet. Feel free to ask questions!
No, sorry.

Over 30 years of friendship with Kyle
Kyle Morrison and I have been friends for almost 30 years! I’d call that loyal and dedicated. She has been a steady, faithful friend over the years. This is primarily due to her sincerity and her ability to communicate. Not only is Kyle a good listener, but she is thoughtful and honest in her responses. I also appreciate the fact that she is dependable. She is reliable and responsible relating to our friendship, but also to her work and other commitments. Although she is often playful and humorous, Kyle approaches her life with honesty and trustworthiness. She is curious about people and relationships and honors them greatly. Basically, she is conscientious about her friends and obligations and she uses tact, warmth and empathy to relate to people in her life. Personally, I am rather picky about people I have in my life. I’d rather have a few excellent friends than many mediocre friends. Kyle is one my few “most excellent” friends!
