Beautiful historic house, walkable to the best Seattle has to offer

About this assignment

We are looking for a quiet, gentle, caring cat lover. Our kitty Evie is older and it takes her some time to adjust to new people, so a single person would be ideal but we are open to couples. Ideally this person would also be somewhat local so we could have repeat visits for future trips.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Feeding Evie three times/day, giving her playtime and a chance to get out on her catio, some food processing (she is missing some teeth and needs her food very soft), plant watering inside and outside.

What are the good features of the property and location

You really can't find a better location within Seattle: Our house is located in Capitol Hill midway between the Arboretum and Volunteer Park- beautiful and historic parts of the city that provide endless opportunity to connect with nature. Capitol Hill can be busy but we are on the quiet east side of the hill with ample street parking. We are within walking distance of great coffee shops, bakeries, groceries, and shopping of all kinds. Multiple bus stops and bus lines are within walking distance, providing access to downtown Seattle, light rail, the University of Washington, and the rest of greater Seattle.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

We expect that only the housesitter(s) will be spending time at our home- please, no outside guests/friends. We also have a lovely and quiet downstairs tenant in the basement apartment whom you may see coming/going. We ask that during early morning or late evening hours that housesitters be noise-conscious. Also: the date range here is tentative and flexible; we intend to be gone for two weeks in Aug or Sept 2025. We may be able to work with a potential sitter's schedule.
