Modern house and two dogs need caring couple near Playa Samara, on Costa Rica's beautiful Pacific coast, June/July 2025

About this assignment

We're looking for a resourceful and reliable couple (from our experience, this assignment really does need two people, so please don't apply if you don't come as a pair, be it a friend, partner or relative), with the time and energy to care for two active dogs, Lucy and Peter, and their home. You could work online but you must be able to prioritise the dogs' needs. Strictly non-smokers, no children or other pets; you must be able to drive (as we live outside town), and enjoy spending time in a peaceful environment. We plan to be away for 6 or 7 weeks during June and July, the actual dates are a little flexible, as our flights are not booked yet, but have to be during that time period.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

To take good care of our home and dogs and communicate with us by WhatsApp from time to time, both to reassure us that all is well or if you need information.

What are the good features of the property and location

This is a modern, spacious home, with all mod cons in a beautiful setting 5 minutes drive from the Pacific beach town of Samara in Costa Rica. Our garden has monkeys and birds visiting and the setting is very peaceful. The town of Samara has everything you need on a day-to-day basis, with several supermarkets, two banks and some excellent restaurants. So you can cook at home in the well-equipped kitchen or eat out when you want a change. We will provide a suitable vehicle for you and the dogs to travel in around the Samara area.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

That you want to spend time with two loving and active dogs, to make a genuine bond with them. They can occasionally be left on their own, if you want to go to town for dinner, but are used to spending a lot of time with us, both at home and out and about.
