Flat/Cat Sitter needed in Hackney (a great base to explore East London from)

About this assignment

Looking for someone thoughtful and responsible to look after my flat and feed and pet my cat Poy whilst I am away. The flat is in need of renovation and after three years of working from home, is in some dissaray, so would suit someone who is not too fussy.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Responsibilities include feeding, petting and cuddling (if she'll let you) Poy and keeping the flat secure and safe. Poy is a 12 year old rescue cat that has never quite got the hang of humans so may be a little timid at first. She's not a lapsitter (unless you are flat in bed) but she will snuggle next to you and demand belly rubs.

What are the good features of the property and location

The flat is a converted three-storey Victorian terrace on a nice quiet street. We are about to slowly start renovations so the flat isn't looking as pretty as it could but it is comfortable and has all the usual mod cons (except for a microwave).

We're very close to London Fields and Broadway Market, Ridley Rd Market and Kingsland Shopping Centre are also just a short walk away. There are lots of great local pubs, bars and cafes around. You'll have all that Dalston has to offer on your doorstep and it's just 15mins by bus to Shoreditch, Whitechapel and Angel.

Finally, if you're a film geek who likes nothing better than to while away your time watching films this is definitely the place for you - there is an extensive DVD/Blu-ray collection that caters to all tastes (musicals, silents, obscure foreign films, sci-fi/action, industrial documentaries, cheesy mainstream flicks, etc.).

There is also access to NowTV (inc Sky Sports), Netflix, Disney, AppleTV and TNT Sport.

And a good selection of books and records to read and listen to.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

I lost one of my cats (Poy's mum) to lymphoma last year and Poy is still a little bit unsettled but seems but seems to be enjoying having all the attention.

As mentioned previously, the flat is arranged over three storeys so it isn't recommended for those who have difficulty negotiating stairs.

Also, parking on the street is permit holder only but I can look into the cost of daily visitor permits on request.

Can I bring my own pets?
