About this assignment
We are looking for a mature individual or couple to care for our house and our 2 year old female German Shepherd. Elsa loves everyone and is very friendly, gentle and fun. The sitter must be honest, tidy, fit and active. People who have experience and good references are a plus. Must love large dogs!!! Non smokers only.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Keep the house clean and tidy.
Need to be fit and active to keep up with our dog. She needs a minimum of two long walks a day weather permitting. Plus a game of throwing the tennis ball once or twice a day. She needs someone who likes to stay around the house to keep her company. However she can be left up to 4 hours at a time. Also she is fed 2 times a day, breakfast and dinner. Mostly just take care of our girl and give her lots of love.
What are the good features of the property and location
We have a beautiful modern pool home on the 13th hole of a golf course and less than 2 miles to the best beach in Florida. The beautiful Navarre Beach has sugar white sand and emerald green/blue water. There is a reef to snorkel to from the beach. It is also a great time to play golf. Our area is very nice this time of the year and not crowded.
Sitters have a queen bed and en-suite full bathroom. Use of most all of the house. We have a strong Wifi for your laptops, phones etc
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
A vehicle is needed.
Need to be fit and active to keep up with our dog.
We would like for you to be here at least 1 day before we leave and 1 day after we return home.
Not suitable for children
Can I bring my own pets?

Couldn’t have been better
This sit was all that was promised and more. The home is lovely and Rickie such an affectionate, well behaved dog. We immediately felt like family and wanted to live up to their expectations and trust. Navarre is a beautiful, relaxed, clean beach with ample places to eat and we even met friendly neighbors on our walks with Rickie. You are close enough to make quick trips to both Destin and Pensacola and we recommend you take the drive to Pensacola on the beach road - gorgeous! You’ll be so glad you accepted this opportunity.

Fabulous pet sit
My wife and I had a great time pet sitting for Vicki and Ed. Ricki is a very smart and well behaved dog and a lot of fun to watch. We enjoyed swimming with her in the great pool and playing fetch. The location of there home is great as it is close to the white sand beaches and the emerald waters that is Navarre Beach. Vicki is very organized and thorough and was very easy to communicate with. Vicki and Ed are well traveled and interesting people and welcomed us in to the there beautiful home and made our stay very welcoming. Also, they had many great recommendations for sightseeing opportunities. We look forward to another opportunity to spend time with Ricki. Thanks Vicki and Ed!

Top Notch Sit/Pet/House/Owners!
This was my second house sit for Vicki, Ed and their dog, Ricki. My husband and our elderly dog stayed for six weeks in their beautiful home and cared for their German Shepard. Again, Ed and Vicki are hospitable, organized and communicative. They are easy to work with and are flexible. Their home is well appointed, sparkling clean and comfy. They have a lovely back yard pool, jacuzzi and outdoor kitchen. It is about a 15 minute drive to some of the prettiest beaches in the world. And, above all, Ricki is well-behaved, calm, fun and sweet and makes the sitting easy. We love to walk and the neighborhood is really nice for walking with the dogs. The town is low-key and has several really wonderful eateries. Just a pleasure house-sitting here. We spent time having a meal together the night before their trip and the night home from their trip so they are really starting to feel like friends. If you get a chance to do this house-sit you won't be sorry!

House-sitting Heaven
Vicki and Ed made my first house-sit a wonderfully positive experience. They were very communicative, organized with clear instructions, and welcoming. Their home is gorgeous, immaculate and comfortable. The town of Navarre is low-key with amazingly gorgeous beaches. Their neighborhood is safe and beautiful. And, lastly, Ricki is a gem of a dog. Well-behaved, sweet, playful and intelligent. We got along like peas and carrots. I would highly recommend this house-sit if you get an opportunity.

Panhandle paradise
Vickie and Ed were some of the most hospitable personable and organized people I have had the pleasure to sit for. Their dog Ricki is the quiet stoic type who loves her walks she has excellent leash manners. Ricki and had a great time together walking and sometimes taking a quick 10 minute drive over to the beach to watch the sun go down. The neighborhood is a great area with a golf course and not too far from Pensacola. I would without hesitation recommend this sit. Enjoy

I had the pleasure of caring for Ricki in 2016, a vivacious German Shepherd, for Vickie and Ed Burke in Navarre Florida. The experience couldn't have been more gratifying. The home itself, in a quiet golfing community, is lovely, well cared for and well appointed. Ricki was immediately welcoming, friendly and energetic. A wonderful companion that I missed to this day. Vicki and Ed couldn't have been more gracious hosts. They are diligent in their selection process, and by the time I arrived there after a phone call and a few emails, it's as though we already knew each other. Great!!

Wonderful house/pet sitting experience
Joe and I have had the privilege of sitting for Vickie, Ed and Rickie three different times. Ed and Vicki have a lovely comfortable home in a quiet neighborhood on a very nice golf course. Ricki is a sweet and loving dog, a joy to take care of. Ed and Vickie are extremely hospitable and organized, and will leave you detailed information regarding caring for Ricki as well as their home. In addition, Navarre is a nice community with a pretty, quiet beach, away from the busyness of Destin and Pensacola but close enough for day trips to see local sights. Enthusiatically recommended! The Ultimate House and Pet sitting Assignment
We have had the pleasure of house and pet sitting for Vickie, Ed & Ricki, and could not have asked for a more perfect assignment. First, Ricki is an awesome dog who is well trained, affectionate, with an endearing personality. She loves to walk and play ball so she will keep you on the go during the day and the evening she enjoys settling in for a quiet evening.
