What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
3 cats & 1 dogs
* 6 Cats (4 in/outdoor & 3 indoor) - feed; change 3 cat litter boxes; give them love and attention
* 1 Dogs ( indoor) - feed twice a day; daily walks; give them love and attention
* House cleaning as needed
* Water a couple of indoor plants
* Check our mailbox and inform us of any incoming mail
* Stay in contact with us by email,whatsApp, or skype on a regular basis
What are the good features of the property and location
* Beautiful little island in the middle of the Atlantic
* Privacy
* Walking distance to a restaurant and mini market
* Walking distance to an ocean swimming area
* Close to the airport, but you can't hear planes
* Only 10 minutes by car to the city of Horta (10 Km)
Some additional main island attractions are:
* Varadouro (20 minutes, by car) - two natural swimming pools, one for adults and one for children, where you can enjoy ocean swimming. You can also swim and dive outside the natural swimming pools in areas which have been arranged for swimming and fun.
*Capelinhos (30 minutes, by car) - a "must see" location on the island where a submarine volcanic eruption took place.
*Caldeira (45 minutes, by car) - the vast crater of an extinct volcano, from which the island originated.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
we are a retired couple. Maria Ines e José Almeida. We have 3 cats at home, Poofy, Patinhas, Friz, but they go out during the day. At night they stay at home. A dog, in a medium-sized house and very sweet. She really likes us to play with her.
As the house has a yard, 4 cats appear and we feed them. They have shelter in the garage.
Can I bring my own pets?

A beautiful experience in Azores island with wonderful pets
Jose and Maria are one of our favorite house and pets owners that we've ever met in our few years journey as house-sitters. The communication with them was very well from the beginning. They picked us up from the airport and they showed us the beautiful house, the garden, and the surroundings on the island, and also we met one by one all the family members. Shin-shin and Puffy, the indoor cats, are the only ones that are allowed to sleep in the house... with the lovely dog, Marthinia. Outside we had in care as well other little ones, each of them with different personalities. Clarice with her beautiful voice, Bob with his shy attitude, and the "Cabesana", the cuddling addict. The Faial island is a beautiful place to visit, very picturesque and "exotic", even if it is a quite small one, you have a lot of things to do and to visit. For us, the volcano and the Caldeira were some of our favorite places. The beaches are nice, but the only thing if you want to swim in the ocean, it is better to be careful in some of them, because of some type of jellyfish. Our adventures on the Faial island were challenging, but also nice. Maria and Jose let us also "play" even with the garden, and to plant some vegetables. We also enjoyed the amazing garden with real banana trees and we enjoyed the taste of the authentic bananas. So, for us this house-sitting was an amazing stay and all the family, Jose and Maria, wonderful people, and all the pets, were like our family! Thank you for everything Maria and Jose!

Like home
Maria and Josè have been super welcoming showing us around and introducing us to their support net. They took care of us for the first two days and made sure we’d know every practical info before they’d leave. We’ve spent 1.5months taking care of the furry crew and it has been great…they all have their personality and all very sweet in their own way. Faial is one of the most beautiful place and we’ve managed to visit other two island thanks to the great support of their friends…and we’ve decided we’ll be back to further explore those magical islands.

Wonderful house/pet sit
Maria & Jose are a most welcoming couple, we felt like family thank you for your generous hospitality and the loan of your car . Your home was lovely , our own bedroom with bathroom a big lounge with a great assortment of TV channels and an office space Infact we had the whole top floor You live in a beautiful part of the world The Azores.Our highlight were the pets Their beautiful loving dog Ms Martinha made our day. Personality plus Thank you Martinha x Their were Five charming cats that were so much fun all with different personalities. This was a wonderful house/pet sit on all levels, highly recommended

Exceptional hosts

Car hire available from the Airport if required. It is only20 minutes by car into Horta, the main town and capital. The cats and the dog are all easy to manage and all attend on time at meal times. Lovely time
It was definitely one of the most delightful experiences I've ever had. Inês and Zé are incredible people who welcomed me as if I were family. Animals are all beautiful and special. The house is comfortable and the island has a wonderful landscape, not to mention the sunset, which is awesome. I miss them a lot. we have all become friends and I want to go back very soon?
