Mas Pinet: artist retreat /farm house in the south of France

About this assignment

Looking for someone who is not afraid to watch an old stone farm house over the winter in southern France, with animals to feed like 3 pigs,3 sheeps,10 chickens,3 dogs,3 cats and bees. Someone who wants to be living a real farm life with every chores that comes with it and every pleasure you also get from it . ; ) Better for a couple or possibly two!

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Feed and care for 3 pigs,3 sheeps,10 chickens,3 dogs,3 cats and bees. ; )
walk the dogs every morning first thing , feed all the animals
water the garden ... eat from it too ; )
keep track of the mail and keep in touch with us via Skype or Facebook
maintain a good heat (wood furnace) and make sure humidity does come through ,especially if it rains a lot. Get wood ...
pick the kiwis from the trees and store them ... make jams ...
get eggs everyday from the chickens ... eat eggs ! ; )
plant a few new fruit trees ... go to the local festival to get trees ...
the full farm life !
Sometimes the electricity can jump so make sure the freezer stays safe.
and maybe do some of the minors winter repairs we usually do .

What are the good features of the property and location

endless ... nice art room ... a river on the house ... a lake walking distance from the house. If you want to visit thearea , we are at the door of UNESCO site national park of the cevenne , and not far from the gorges du Tarn.

You have to drive stick shift. We can leave a car for you to drive around , just care for it as your own. You break it , you repair it ! But it's a very basic, worth-nothing car , nothing to worry about...

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

you need to be good with your hands and need to love the countryside, quiet time ... challenges that might appear ... there is no walking distance anything .
but shops within 10 mn drive.
we have good neighbors. Some are english.
A great farmers market on saturday .
we would accept a small family
