About this assignment

We are looking for a couple who can arrive on April 13, 2025 and stay until May 19, 2025

We have to leave my wife's Guide Dog "Splendid" at home for this trip because we could not get clearance for her to travel with us to Japan. You will need a car. See listing below.

In our absence we would like to have the house occupied by a mature (over 40) couple (NO singles please) with NO children and no personal pets. Who are willing to keep our property clean and neat, including light gardening tasks if necessary. They will also be requested to take in the mail daily and must be willing to communicate by FaceTime or WhatsApp on a weekly basis to report on what mail has been received.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Arrive one full day before owners leave and stay until after owners return.

Ensure that Splendid is kept to her feeding routine (no human food) and monitor her time in our fenced back yard. Take her for walks on your schedule.
Keep the house and yard neat and tidy. Mow the yard and string trim as necessary. Take in the mail and keep the house looking occupied.

What are the good features of the property and location

The house is in a quiet suburban setting in Taylors, (Greenville) SC convenient to local shopping and with a wide selection of restaurants and breweries within a 10-mile radius of the house. Both Charlotte and Atlanta are within about a 2-hour drive and the North Carolina mountains can be reached within 1-hour. Greenville has its own airport (GSP) just 18 minutes from the house by car. There are many outdoor activities in the area including a 26-mile biking /walking trail (Swamp Rabbit Trail), a minor league baseball team, theaters, a beautiful downtown park (Falls Park) a small zoo, museums, theaters, microbreweries, and some great restaurants.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

NON-SMOKERS ONLY please!! NO children and NO pets. Mature couple - NO singles.

A commitment for the entire period is required (see specific dates). References will be required and a background check may be requested. House sitters will need their own car or are willing to use Uber or Lyft- there is no public transportation to this part of Greenville.
