About this assignment
The dates are somewhat flexible and we would consider a longer stay
We are looking for a single person or a couple, who like cats and would enjoy living in our spacious and comfortable home situated in the quiet and beautiful surrounding countryside. It would suit responsible, dependable and independent persons who would enjoy the available seclusion, in our home.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
We have 2 cats that are quite independent but they need some attention and feeding twice daily. We also have numerous plants in our conservatory that will need some attending over the winter. Besides taking general care of our house, that is about it.
What are the good features of the property and location
Our house is in the middle of beautiful countryside with its own small lake and our 2 cats. There is unlimited fiber Wifi and good mobile phone signal
We are in South western France, in the Aveyron region. Our nearest village is Najac (as in the photos) a unique 13th Century Bastide village.
We have a spacious house a large garden and lake surrounded by farmland and no immediate neighbours.
Our nearest supermarket is about a 6 minute drive away.
Our nearest large town is Villefranche de Rouergue 20 minutes away, with a thriving Thursday market and numerous shops and supermarkets and restaurants.
We have fast Internet and UK TV. We have a wood burner as the main source of heating. If you want to relax in our comfortable very quiet home during winter, this may be the place for you.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
You will need a car as there is no public transport except the local train which goes to Toulouse but only runs a few times a day. You will have plenty of time for exploring the surrounding countryside, villages and towns, which are both interesting and pretty stunning.
You will definitely need your own vehicle as there is no public transport.

Wonderful housesit experience
We had the most brilliant housesit experience at Rita & Gary's beautiful house in France. We fell in love with two most adorable cats (Mango & Setti) and Mr Duck straight away. Rita and Gary welcomed us very nicely, we had a delicious dinner and we got all the useful tips and tricks about the place and the area. Their house is really comfortable, beautiful and quirky, we felt inspired living there. The privacy of their gorgeous garden was such a gift after years of living in a busy city apartment. We loved doing yoga, meditating and simply enjoying the lawn barefoot. Rita & Gary has lots of beautiful plants and flowers in their garden (and in their conservatory), which was such a delight to witness blossoming after winter. The nature around is serene. Beautiful walks with wonderful views, woods and river made us really happy. As well as medieval gorgeous little villages around with truly friendly people and all the relevant necessities easily accessible. We used Gary's & Rita's bikes to explore the area and sometimes even go to the shops. It's not far and it's a pleasant experience! There's also a tennis court nearby where we played tennis daily. We truly couldn't have imagined how wonderful this experience will be. We fell in love with this part of the world and we are deeply grateful to Rita and Gary for providing us with such sweet opportunity. We can't wait to come back!

At home in Najac
We were greeted with a very warm welcome and a lovely dinner when we arrived. We had a wonderful time house sitting for this lovely couple and their two mischievous cats of whom brought us lots of laughter during our 5/6 week house sit. Najac is very picturesque place and we enjoyed our time here tremendously. Rita and Gary were very accommodating and helpful and we really enjoyed what time we spent with them. Their home is very cosy, we loved their beautiful garden and even enjoyed a boat ride on the lake one sunny day. Would highly recommend to any future house sitters. Leza & Markus
